Colleen Kelton had been looking for the perfect car for some time. Him and his wife would search online and in newspapers and magazines, but really struggled. You see, the car Colleen wanted was fairly straightforward enough – he wanted a Nissan Skyline GTR. But in Midnight Purple, a pretty rare colour. When, finally, the couple found one for sale, it was too expensive. So they had to settle for a silver version. Colleen’s least favourite colour.
But all wasn’t lost though. Colleen’s better half, Allison LaValley, is an artist. And she struck upon a brilliant idea – she’d decorated it with a Sharpie pen!
At first, Colleen was reluctant to agree. What if she messed it up?! That car was his dream and it hadn’t been cheap… But Allison was confident. And he knew he simply had to trust her.
So he let her at it. She put her heart and soul into the project, spending more than a hundred hours in total doodling over the vehicle.
She started with the bumper as a test area and – after 15 hours – completed it. It looked good, so she carried on!
Soon, it became apparent that Allison’s vision was fantastic and that her husband was right to trust in his good lady wife!
It needed a good four coats of clear varnish afterwards to set it.
And it just looks fantastic, doesn’t it? This is better than any midnight purple! And it’s so unique.
Now every time Colleen steps into his car he’s reminded just what a special wife he has!
Would you drive a car like this? We would. Though we’d need to be careful, we wouldn’t want to scratch it!
What a talented other half the driver has!
Sometimes the most amazing things happen when two people get together and really trust one another. Maybe we could learn a thing or two from Colleen and Allison.
