The phenomena of weather can be a bewildering thing. Nature’s so hugely wonderful, powerful and devastating all at the same time. It can bestow unto us beautiful morning sunshine and much-needed rainfall (and, if together, rainbows – and who doesn’t like those?). Lightning storms can be exciting to watch and there are few things more awe inspiring than seeing snow fall to the ground on Christmas Day. But sometimes, weather goes far beyond our imagination.
Here’s an example of what we’re talking about. Recent and insane snowfall in Kamchatka, Russia.
[hr]
The evening before…
The morning after!
In less than twelve hours, this much snow fell.
Having a ski lift attached to your bedroom window may sound like fun, but snowfall like this can have debilitating effects on the community sometimes.
Transport, for instance! How are you getting to your car?!
Once you’re in, driving is extremely difficult indeed.
Just look at the conditions. Would you like to try driving in them?
The area pretty much comes to a standstill on the few occasions snow hits this bad.
Just look how deep it is!
Craziness.
But it can still be fun…
Worth remembering the next time you complain about a bit of cold or rain – other people across the world face much greater difficulties at times than we do…
