A Terrified Woman Called 911 To Order Pizza. At First They Thought It Was A Prank, But It Turned Out Saving Her Life!

Pizza Call

As a police 911 operator, Keith Weisinger has heard it all. Well, almost. One particular call really took him aback, though – one from a lady ordering a pepperoni and mushroom pizza… Initailly dismissing the call as nothing more than a hoax or prank, Keith’s first instinct was to terminate the call and hang up on the lady. But something stopped. He wasn’t entirely sure what. But he was glad he did. Because the call ended up saving the caller’s life.

You can find the incredible transcript of the conversation below:

Pizza Call

Dispatcher: 911 – Where is your emergency?
Caller: 123 Main Street.
Dispatcher: Okay, so what exactly is going on there?
Caller: I’d like to order a pizza for delivery please.

Pizza Call

Dispatcher: Ma’am, you’ve reached 911…
Caller: Yeah, I know. I know. Can I have a large one with half pepperoni, half mushroom and some peppers?
Dispatcher: Ummm…. I’m sorry ma’am, you know you’ve called 911, right?
Caller: Yeah. Now, do you know how long it will be?
Dispatcher: Ok, Ma’am. Is everything okay over there? Do you have an emergency?
Caller: Yes, I do.
Dispatcher: And you can’t talk about it because there’s someone in the room with you? Someone who might be listening???

Pizza Call

Caller: Yes, that’s absolutely correct. Do you know how long you’ll be?
Dispatcher: I have an officer less than a mile from your location. Are there any weapons in your house?
Caller: No.
Dispatcher: Can you stay on the phone with me?
Caller: Nope. Sorry. Okay. See you soon… Thanks so much.

Now knowing what was really going on, Keith could send an officer to attend immediately. The female caller was bruised and beaten, but recovered from her injuries. The police officer who attended said that the male arrested was extremely drunk and violent and was threatening to kill the poor woman. So it was her sharp thinking that might well have saved her life…

We salute the smart thinking of the lady in this story. Our heart goes out to her and we wish her – and anyone else who is or has been the victim of domestic abuse – strength and happiness in the future.
